Therapy For Mom Rage

With Kait Towner, LMHC, CCPT, PMH-C

I'm a therapist and mom of two, so I understand what it feels like when motherhood doesn't look the way you thought it would.

For over 10 years, I've helped moms work through rage, overwhelm, and perinatal mental health challenges.

Are you snapping faster than you used to?

Do you find yourself wondering, "Why am I so angry all the time?"

Do love your kids deeply, but you're tired of feeling irritated, frustrated, and not yourself?

Or you're carrying the mental load for everyone in the house and your cup feels completely empty.

When you're overstimulated before breakfast, the smallest thing can push you from 0 to 60. You keep trying self-care advice, parenting tips, and coping skills, but nothing seems to stick.

Being mad doesn't mean you're a bad mom. It’s an indication that you need some help.

Moms Come To Me When They’re:

  • Overstimulated

  • Snapping quickly

  • Running on empty

  • Feeling resentful

  • Easily irritated

  • Carrying everything

  • Missing who they are

  • Exhausted + overwhelmed

“Whoever said moms aren't supposed to get mad was probably never one.”

What Mom Rage Therapy With Me Looks Like

Therapy with me is collaborative, honest, and tailored to you.

We aren't working out of workbooks here and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach because every mom's experience is different.

We start with a detailed intake and assessment so we both understand where you're coming from. The first few sessions focus on building trust and getting a clear picture of what's contributing to your anger, overwhelm, and stress. Around the third session, we begin integrating tools, strategies, and deeper work together.

I never push clients faster than they're ready to go. We'll work as a team and make sure your voice is part of every step of the process.

Modalities I Use

  • Helps identify thought patterns that fuel guilt, frustration, and self-criticism so you can respond differently when stress builds.

  • Builds emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills so difficult moments don't immediately take over your day.

  • Focuses on relationships, communication, and life transitions, helping you navigate changes in motherhood and partnership.

  • Helps process experiences and emotional stress that may be keeping your nervous system stuck in survival mode.

Together, we'll build practical strategies for the moments when the anger shows up while also addressing what's underneath it.

No more white-knuckling your way through motherhood.

Mom rage is not proof that you've failed, it’s often a signal that something needs attention.

After Working With Me, Moms Have:

  • More confidence

  • Better frustration tolerance

  • Greater self-awareness

  • Less household tension

  • Stronger boundaries

  • Better communication

  • More connection with family

You don't become a perfect parent. You become a parent who understands herself, responds more intentionally, and feels more in control.

About Kait Towner, LMHC, CCPT, PMH-C

My therapy is designed for moms who are exhausted from carrying everything alone.

I believe meaningful change happens when therapy feels real, collaborative, and tailored to the person sitting in front of me.

Clients describe me as down-to-earth, genuine, and easy to talk to. I hold a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) and I work especially well with people who are new to therapy or unsure about telehealth.

I'm not a blank-slate therapist who simply nods and asks how that feels. I show up as a real human being, and together we'll create a plan that actually fits your life.

Outside of therapy, I'm also a mom of two wild red-headed boys. I love the Thousand Islands, reading, and my cats who may occasionally make guest appearances during virtual sessions.

Availability: I provide online therapy for clients throughout New York.
